Here we go again…

With apologies to new followers, and those who may justly be expecting comments and replies from me, it seems that for the umpteenth time, WordPress has decided to make me ‘persona non grata’, and they are not allowing any of the recent comments and replies (on other blogs) that I have typed and posted.

I am still here, and have tried to comment and reply, believe me. Check your Spam folders, as I might be in there. It seems that I can still reply on my own blog, so I suppose I should be thankful for that at least.

As much as I love blogging, these constant WordPress ‘glitches’ do make me wonder if it is worth continuing. I am once again royally pissed-off this evening, and I have just about had enough of it, to be honest. Hopefully, I will be back soon, freed from the WordPress ‘jail’.

If not, it has been nice knowing you.

  1. All comments from you are coming in to me. These glitches make the recipient (you, or me) want to scream and more. Most of the time it is something that the tech gods can tell us how to fix, easily. Pete, it was the best ninety-nine dollars I spent for premium upgrade. Then you have live chat, and they are really, really nice and helpful. Problem always fixed. Just sayin’…

    1. Thanks, Jennie. I know that it is not a lot of money to upgrade and get better service from WP. But I have to watch what I spend when I am living on a pension. Once my allowance runs out, I may try to budget for the Premium Service.
      Best wishes, Pete.

      1. I know, Pete. And, I apologize that I brought it up. You can get WP answers to problems on the public forum (I think that’s what it’s called) and sometimes they’re helpful. Best to you.

    1. Very kind, RPD. I do react badly to these wordpress glitches, I confess. That is mainly because I get them so frequently, and have no idea why it happens. I have good days and bad days, and yesterday was most definitely a bad one! 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Sorry to hear it Pete. I hope it all resolves soon. We would hate to see you disappear from the blogosphere! In the meantime, I hope you and Ollie are finally enjoying some sunny days in Beetley. We finally got the rain and cooler temperatures we wished for here. 🙂

    1. Warm sun today, Susanne, but rain forecast. Never mind, we had two good days! I don’t know why I have been sent to Spam folders again. After five years, you would think they would know me!
      Best wishes, Pete.

  3. All’s well on my sites Pete. I hear you loud and clear. Just shrug off the commenting nonsense, it will probably remedy itself. I lost a comment the other day too – it happens. Hopefully people you care about will and do check their comments and rescue anyone who is trapped inside. Wishing you positivity and peace xx

  4. You ought to be able to email them and get some kind of resolution. I am sure you must have tried. I see your comments. Maybe you’ve done more than I realize, but I see your activity on mine and other sites. Maybe it takes time for the comments to post? When I have an issue or question, I “chat” with someone on the other side and they are eager to help. I pay a yearly subscription.

    1. Thanks, Cindy. My site is free, so I can only approach the help forum, which I have done so many times before, when this happens. It seems to take a long time to resolve, and they never explain why. I am really fed up tonight, and not in a very good mood to deal with this. So, best not to engage with WP, as I might just tell them to ‘shove it’. Thanks again, for your help and advice.
      Best wishes, Pete.

  5. Put your foot down with WP Support for them to locate the problem – we can’t lose you – we still have 8 more letters of the alphabet to go!! You’ll even be letting down your faithful Beetley-ites who follow your walks with Ollie – and while we’re talking about Ollie – WHAT ABOUT ME?!!
WP must like me ~~ I received a comment from you about my post this morning.

    1. Thanks, GP. I am in an exceptionally bad mood this evening, not helped by ONCE AGAIN being sent to WordPress Jail for no good reason at all. I am fed up with trying to sort out their problems, to be honest.
      Regards, Pete.

        1. Just one more thing to add to a very angry day, Sue. Straw and camel…
The truth is, I am absolutely furious about the current American obsession to re-write history, by removing Confederate memorials. If one thing gets my goat, it is the ‘whitewashing’ of actual events. It has been driving me mad, and this WP thing just topped it off.
          Best wishes, Pete,

  6. Of course whether you continue to blog is up to you, and I do understand why you’d be angry. However, give it some thought before you make any final decisions. Websites do all kinds of strange things, and it would be a shame to give up something you enjoy because WordPress is being idiotic. Comments aren’t the only thing about blogging.

    1. Very kind, Michelle. I am just angry and frustrated about how many times this happens. The interaction with other bloggers is 90% of the joy for me, and I am so tired of WordPress ruining that so often.
      Best wishes, Pete.

    2. I do understand that. Being able to interact with other bloggers is part of the point, but Internet sites can do strange things sometimes. It’s a problem on their end and they need to get it corrected. Easier said than done I know. Tech support for sites like WP are pretty useless.
