Today’s new follower

I had to chuckle today. I was notified of a new follower when I logged on to WordPress, so naturally checked out their site, and thanked them for following.

I know I go on a bit about getting older, but I think this new follower is trying to tell me something, don’t you?

  6. The trouble with one that size is that you can’t dismantle it and put it in the back of the car. Mine is small enough that you can. It’s not designed for roads, goes at 4 mph and is called an Elite Traveller Sport. (The ‘Sport’ refers to the fact that it has bigger wheels and [oddly] a bigger basket than the regular version). Don’t think that get’s me any Hell’s Angel points. More of a moped, I think 😉 It’s earned me plenty of stares in Romania, though!

    The fact that I need to use one means that I have been equally amused when I get personal trainers, surfers and the like ‘following’ my blog because I have been daft enough to put ‘health’ as a tag. We live and learn 😉 Pity they don’t. If they did, they might actually read the blog they are so keen to advertise themselves on!

    1. Those ‘Tag Followers’ drive me mad too. Julie’s dad used to have a handy scooter that folded to go in the boot of the car, so I am familiar with that sort. But I think I might need something ‘all-terrain’ for Beetley! 🙂

  7. Must be an “NCALT” tutorial for that dastardly machine. Perhaps even a session at driving school will be required to get you signed off. Or worst scenario having to do Road Craft all over again….The system of mobility scooter control is a system or drill each feature is considered in sequence by the bla bla bla – I’m sure you know the rest.

      It is hard to believe that scooters like the one shown above are ‘road legal’. In this area, that means they share a country road that has a 70 mph limit, at their top speed of 8 mph! A salesman of those things told me that many of his customers are not disabled, or physically unable to walk. They just buy them to ride around small towns and villages because they are cheaper than cars, or they are too lazy to walk. The one shown above has a ‘rider weight limit’ of 28 stones. That is an unusually high weight for people in this country, but it speaks volumes about their ‘target market’.
