For many of you, it is the start of the working week. Others might be about to go on holiday, heading off to airports, or packing up the car for a long drive. You may have appointments, a job interview, or be busy dealing with children already bored with the long summer break from school.
But for me in Beetley, it’s just another day. It might just as well be Friday, or Sunday. Days of the week have little or no relevance for me. Ollie has to be walked, dinner cooked later this evening, and if I get time, I might watch a foreign TV serial on catch-up, or maybe even a film I have recorded. Late afternoon on a Monday, I get in the car and go to the local supermarket to do the ‘big shop’. Some people hate shopping, but I don’t mind it at all. The huge air-conditioned shop is a pleasant place to while away an hour as I stock up for the week. I am also content to know that I won’t be back again, util next Monday.
Sometimes on a Monday, I might also do some housework, or even gardening, if it is absolutely necessary. But it is unusually hot here at the moment, so both of those are off my agenda. So it looks like another quiet day in rural Norfolk. Fingers crossed.
Sounds VERY familiar Pete!

Before Little O was born I also used to enjoy grocery shopping. I love seeing what is new and interesting that I could try. With Little O though it’s a bit more stressful so these days I order the big shop to be delivered. I miss it sometimes.

Having been in the supermarket with our grandson, I can feel that pain. I have never had an online grocery shop delivered, but no doubt once I no longer want to drive, that will come.
Best wishes, Pete.

We don’t have a car so it definitely comes in handy.

You have six days to relax those fingers after having crossed them so tightly on Monday. As for me, I’m like a bee buzzing around the hive, only the hive is the Las Vegas Strip.

I don’t envy you buzzing around in that heat, David.
Best wishes, Pete.

I liked and enjoyed my job. But after 20 years of retirement I can not member how I had time to go to work.
Warmest regards, Theo

I did ‘good jobs’ that were worthwhile, but I would sooner not have had to. π

Since I took on a job as a temporary museum attendant my working week starts on Thursday so Monday is my Friday and Tuesday/Wednesday the weekend. Five weeks into the job I’m totally confused! I hope you enjoyed your day.

Thanks, Mary. I worked shifts for 33 years, so I know all about being confused over days! π
Best wishes, Pete.

It’s so much better than working, Robbie. My tip is to retire as early as you possibly can! π

Sounds like me Pete. Weβre also having a heat wave so Iβm staying inside with the air conditioner. I wish you could get one.

Two big fans are doing a good job, Kim. It is forecast to cool down considerably after Wednesday. π

Well, if there’s no word being chainsawed or cars being repaired, you are off to a good beginning of the week!

So far so good, John. Other than a couple of pressure washers being used to clean cars, the week has started well. π
Best wishes, Pete.

Sounds very similar to my Monday. Shopping (in the morning, for me, partly to get it over with, partly because it’s cooler).

Noting quite like retirement mate! π
Cheers, Pete.

Retirement is a pretty good thing. Enjoy your day! (which with the time difference for you is now around lunch I guess) I just came home from a few days in the mountains and will soon be barked at by my two rescue doggies when I collect them. They always let me have it, then I get snubbed for a while. They get over it pretty quickly.

Nothing quite like the welcome you get from dogs. Ollie acts the same if I have been gone for two days, or thirty minutes. π
Best wishes, Pete.

I work Mondays,Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, but I love my job so am happy to be doing that. But even though I have 4 days a week off there is just never enough time to do all the things I want to get done, so I will be happy when I can retire like you. Only 7 years to go!

Loving your job is the key, undoubtedly. But not having to do anything, unless you want to, is even better. π π

A pleasant week ahead Pete. I love grocery shopping, reading the labels and comparing brand prices.
Hello Ollie (waves).

It’s very hot here today, Arlene, so the cool shop will make a nice break. Ollie is so hot, he only wants to stay out for 40 minutes on his walks. π¦
Best wishes, Pete.

Ah, living upside down! I forget it is your winter, Peggy. 32 C here today, so air-conditioned shopping later is a relief. π

Have a great week, Pete (I work at my computer these days, so most days are pretty much like each other, unless I’m working on a project with a deadline). Surviving the heat is the priority. π

I have a day off work today (well I did work on Saturday so technically itβs not really a day off), but Iβm going to be doing pretty much the same things you are Pete (except for the walking the dog part and shopping). Have a great week! π

Just blogging for you then, I suspect. π π

Haha, well letβs see the plans for today are: Finishing a book, watch a few episodes of a Korean drama series, some anime, and watching a new Jean-Claude van Damme/Dolph Lundgren movie (which I suspect isnβt going to be very good, but hey maybe I will be surprised π). And…of course blogging as well ππ
