A Blogging Thank You

Late last night, (Wednesday night) I noticed that there had been an unusually large increase in views on my blog. Checking the stats, I could see that both the posts published that day had equal views, and all they and the other posts combined would normally add up to the usual amount of views and visitors I normally see on a average day, which is something around 220 views, and 80 visitors.

But my stats showed only 74 visitors, and close to 400 views. I looked at the posts viewed, and discovered that someone had apparently viewed over 130 of my ‘archive’ posts, without leaving any Likes or comments. That almost doubled my daily stats, and was most welcome.

So, this is by way of thanks to that person. You know who you are, even though I don’t. I appreciate you spending so much time in one day, just reading my blog. I really do. Please come again. πŸ™‚

  1. That’s strange. Yesterday I got this notification from WordPress:
Your blog, http://www.cabbieblog.com, appears to be getting more traffic than usual! 132 hourly views – 5 hourly views on average
Out of curiosity (and vanity) I checked to find just one person had viewed over 40 posts.
Today my hit rate is back to normal.

    1. Maybe they were hitting lots of blogs at once, David? I know some new bloggers check out many of those in the community, as I get the clicks and referrals information on my stats. Oh well, one day is better than nothing. πŸ™‚
      Best wishes, Pete.

  2. There are many reasons that your blog gets so much attention, Pete. Here are just a few. 1. You are a talented writer. 2. You encourage friendly discourse. You foster a community. 3. You mix it up…Movie reviews, serials, short stories, musings and song lyric analysis. All good stuff. Interesting. 4. You mentor inexperienced bloggers like myself.
You never fish for compliments, but everything I wrote is true and I’m sure your many followers would and do attest.

  3. A mystery visitor! It would have been nice if they’d left more clues behind as to their identity. Maybe they’ll pop back in and say ‘you’re welcome!’ At least you can make sense of your stats. Sometimes I don’t understand mine at all and wonder if they’re accurate. Oh well. I’m starting to take them with a grain of salt. ☺

        1. Thanks, John. I think you are a very natural blogger. But you refuse to keep the same theme and font, and also change platforms, and blog names. So, it is hard to keep track of you.
But I have done my best to do just that. πŸ™‚
          Best wishes, Pete.
