The cover is an illustration for the story, “The Day Jimmy Carter Became a Republican.” The mouse represents CNN, which is always hungry for scandalous tidbits of information.
(By the way, I actually shook Jimmy Carter’s hand while he was president. He was walking towards the Jackson County Courthouse. And I just happened to be walking to lunch (I worked in the federal building next door during the transition from HEW to HHS). I had no idea that the president was in Kansas City, so the encounter was a complete surprise. Probably surprised him, too.)
I found out how that happened. Jimmy only flew to Kansas City to meet you, but didn’t want to make a big deal about it. He cleverly found out your usual routine, and conspired to be walking past as you left for lunch. Not many know this, but he was a keen compiler of limericks, as well as a punster.
Your fame had spread to Georgia, even to remote peanut farms.
Even now, he talks about the day he shook David Miller’s hand, and regards it as more exciting than his Presidency. π
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. Yes, it’s the Anonymous Me! So here’s my next test – I logged a case, and they suggested I log out and clear my browser cache and try again. If that worked, this comment should show as Me, and not ‘Anonymous.’ Let’s hope it works. π
Some might be familiar with Olly and the mouse.
Or Wally and Olly

I think he is sharing his peanuts with it. Don’t forget, elephants are supposed to be afraid of mice! π

Yeah. I thought this particular elephant might be plotting revenge. Itβs really your fault that my mind immediately went there Pete.π

Perhaps as the mouse reaches for the nut, he will stamp on it! (The mouse, not the nut) In my story, he would! π
