Back on the ‘Reblogging Trail’, I found this old post from 2013. Only three of you have seen it, I think.
I was quite outspoken back then! Look how much I have calmed down now. π
I saw a bit of a TV programme called Room 101. Minor celebrities compete to get things they hate put into βRoom 101β by the host, symbolising the removal of those things, on a permanent basis. It is supposed to be funny, and it isnβt at all. However, it got me thinking about things that I would like to ban, or make disappear, and here is a short list of them.
Centre Lane drivers. On a three lane motorway, there are always drivers who insist on never moving out of the middle lane. They usually drive quite slowly, or just on the legal limit, making it hard for slow lorries to get out of the left lane, or for other drivers who have overtaken them, to move back in safely. Even when there is no traffic, say during the early hours of the morning, they still hug this middle laneβ¦

Ha ha. I’ve seen the same cars in Manchester, Preston and Carlisle in the middle lane as I’ve travelled north and made stops Pete. Takes some ignorance to do Birmingham to Glasgow without seeing any glares or flashed lights

Thanks, Rich. There is no changing those idiots, they just don’t get it.
Best wishes, Pete.

I forgot to mention that I totally agree about tabloid newspapers: I refer to them as ‘comics’, because that is their intellectual level; although that is possibly derogatory to comics, because they can be amusing, but in a generally innocent way π I stopped reading newspapers about 15 years ago, and I don’t think they’ve improved any in the meantime: they’re living on borrowed time. Cheers, Jon.

I haven’t even picked up a tabloid newspaper since before 2000, Jon. But even walking past racks of them outside shops winds me up. π
Since I moved here in 2012, the only newspaper I have read is the local weekly.
Best wishes, Pete.

I enjoy reading posts like this one, Pete, because it makes me realise that perhaps I’m not as opinionated as I thought I was! (although my wonderful daughters probably wouldn’t agree π ) I quite enjoy Room 101, although I don’t watch it religiously; however, middle lane drivers should be put up against a wall……….. (you know the rest). Oh, and I have a pony tail, of which I’m inordinately proud π Cheers, Jon.

Thanks, Jon. Just keep that pony tail away from my scissors, and you will be OK. π
Best wishes, Pete.

Not much danger of that, in the near future at least, Pete π I do let my hair down occasionally, though, and I can do it literally, not figuratively! π

I don’t have much hair left, but I have ’embraced the crop’! π
At least I won’t end up looking like ‘Catweazle’. π
Best wishes, Pete.

One of the first TV programmes I saw in colour, that, and Geoffrey Bayldon was such a good actor. I have secured my most recent acting parts thanks to my hair. Just saying……… π

WAIT! I have pony tail……but NO Man Bun…that is truly disgusting. chuq

I know you have a pony tail, chuq. But because of Vietnam, I will give you a pass. Britain didn’t have a Vietnam, so no excuses here. π
And a man bun is just a pony tail fixed in elastic. π
Best wishes, Pete.

Sometimes people need to be upset , it’s often good for us and prods us into action or at least reconsideration of our position. I have often upset others , not maliciously but by expressing my genuine opinion.

Some of this is valid criticism , the bits I’m not so keen on is where you take a dislike to other people’s appearance rather than their behaviour. Everyone can dress how they like but not behave how they like is a good maxim.
You are right people often make feeble excuses as to their various problems and they could cure them by changing their lifestyles. In their defence we all have a tendency to think ourselves blameless for our situation and there are many things we cannot avoid but we are to blame for some unpleasant things we suffer.

Don’t take this one too seriously, FM. It was just a bit of a ‘rant’, and not intended to be ‘definitive criticism’. π Some of it was actually teasing, aimed at a couple of my friends.
That’s why I don’t really do this sort of thing anymore, in case I upset people.
Best wishes, Pete.

I get very annoyed with those centre lane drivers too. Fortunately we don’t have any motorways here!
