    1. Yes I was, dear Suzan. I just had a busy day that day with my wife’s family here. We made lunch for them, then took them to a restaurant in the evening. I had little time for blogging, so thought I would let everyone know I wouldn’t be around.
      Best wishes, Pete. x

        1. It went well, Jennie. An early lunch here, followed by a restaurant meal in the evening. But with one step-daughter due a baby in three weeks, and another suffering badly with a virus, it was quite subdued. πŸ™‚
(That was good news for me)

          1. Subdued is a good thing. πŸ™‚ How exciting that a baby is due! The best gift you can give is the book β€œGoodnight Moon” in the large board book format, often called a lap book. Sorry – I couldn’t help myself blurting that out. It’s my #1 baby gift, along with β€œThe Read Aloud Handbook.” I’m glad you had a nice visit with family. Maybe Santa will grant you a wish of no rain. πŸ˜€

  1. My second wife’s family rented a hall for the Saturday before Chrismas and had a family Chrismas–30 to 40 men women and children. I have wondered since the elders passed (a father and mother to six children and each child had a spouse and several children and then there were great-grandchildren) if they still do that. Better to have Christmas that day than to shop on that day–it is murder rout there in the stores. Warmest regards, Theo
