Blogging Thoughts At Christmas

As the day approaches, and so many bloggers are visiting family, busy hosting, or taking that much-needed blogging break, I thought I would have a quick recap of the blogging year at Beetleypete.

First of all, my thanks as always to all those followers. The ones who comment and engage, just add a ‘Like’, or read anonymously. Whoever and wherever you are, I send my seasonal wishes, and a huge genuine “THANK YOU!”

2019 has seen the highest ever views in one day on my blog, and a real increase in followers. Most of them genuine, I am pleased to say. After more than seven years working hard at hopefully being a ‘Good Blogger’, I am happy to report that it is still going strong, and I have an audience for whatever I write about. That could be complaints about the rain, my dog Ollie chasing deer, or a film review. It is also sometimes lengthy fiction serials, which I seem to have become addicted to writing.

Each of the subjects that frequently get the ‘beetleypete treatment’ attracts its own regulars, and I couldn’t be happier about that.

I would like to also thank those followers who used to follow but have moved on. I appreciated your time and attention when you were still around.
I send my condolences to the families of any bloggers who have sadly passed away during 2019, or have become too ill to continue with blogging.

You will all be missed by me, I assure you.

Extra thanks to those of you who have reblogged and tweeted any of my posts or Twitter feed, and also to everyone who kindly submitted a guest post to be published on my blog.

The wonderful community we are a part of continues to inspire me, and so you can expect more of the same, in 2020.

  1. Hope you have a beautiful holiday season, Pete. I am awoken. Lol One who think days could be silent, forgot the German postal service. They are not only delivering greetings cards, and the work has to be done over the “Holy Days” too. ;-(

      1. You’re welcome, Love.❤ I finally got the comment issue fixed I believe. It was hell! Geez! Thank you for your kindness about my posts. My health has been really rundown out of shape. I am hoping it will get better soon but I am no longer letting the pain and illness stop me from being me and doing things happy like talking to friends like you! Wooden mallets be a fitting Christmas gift to send people who have abandoned your blog? ̶W̶i̶l̶l̶e̶m̶ ̶D̶a̶f̶o̶e̶ William Beaufoe, the ̶E̶n̶g̶l̶i̶s̶h̶ ̶P̶a̶t̶i̶e̶n̶t̶ Bishop of Thetford, told me that during the holidays, striking the bean with a mallet can knock some sense into yogurt-brained ex-followers. Oh, wait. Goodwill to men, and all that. Never mind!

    1. That’s an interesting idea, David. The name of this village, Beetley, comes from the Anglo-Saxon word ‘Betel’. That was a wooden mallet, made from oak, and this area was know for producing the best ones. 🙂

  29. Pete, It has been a pleasure sharing portions of this blogging journey with you. You are a most generous and supportive blogger and I appreciate your kindness so much. I appreciated the kindness you showed my daughter when she started her blogging journey. It meant a great deal to her.

    It does not matter what you choose to write about, your presence here is what is most valuable to me. I wish you, Julie and Ollie a wonderful Christmas.
