This is a reminder about something I wrote about last year.
IF YOU LEAVE A COMMENT ON ANY OF MY POSTS THAT IS A LINK TO SOMETHING YOU ARE SELLING, OR SIMPLY A LINK TO YOUR OWN BLOG, THEN IT WILL BE MARKED AS SPAM, BEFORE BEING DELETED.
I WILL NEVER APPROVE SUCH A COMMENT, AND AFTER A WHILE WORDPRESS WILL MARK EVERY COMMENT YOU TRY TO LEAVE ON ANY BLOG AS SPAM.
YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, SO PLEASE STOP DOING THIS ON MY BLOG.
IF IT CONTINUES, YOU WILL BE ‘NAMED AND SHAMED’, BELIEVE ME.
IF YOU WANT TO COMMENT, READ THE POST, AND LEAVE A COMMENT THAT IS RELEVANT.
A LINK TO YOUR BUSINESS BLOG DOES NOT QUALIFY AS THAT.
Ah well now I canβt send you a link to my blog so you will never get to read it. So sad π¦

Do you get these, Lucinda? No comment, not even one word. Just a blog post link.
I find them very rude. π
Best wishes, Pete.

Something strange going on her it won’t let me like your comment. No, I get the occasional spam message but it is always filtered out. No links either I guess that’s because no one wants to be my friend sob sob. Also I’ve not blogged much this year.

I will be your friend, Lucinda. π

Some never learn Pete. Good thing WordPress marks as spam those porn sites that regularly visit my blog.

WP is very good at catching Spam comments with many links, and the same keywords, I agree. But these ‘one-link’ comments by people who have WP blogs are slipping through. π
Best wishes, Pete.

Oh my, you can block their sites.

I’ve been fortunate not to run into any spam yet. But maybe don’t name and shame them? They’re not worth anyone’s time

The regular annoyance didn’t appear yesterday. Hopefully, he got the message.
Best wishes, Pete.

can you still buy spam, haven’t seen it for years or is that just because I’ve not looked π€

They sell it in Tesco, Bobby. Not just in tins, but in plastic fridge packets too. Currently Β£2 a tin, so almost the price of good quality ham!

I am reminded of Monty Python! Except WordPress spam isn’t as wonderful. π

So far, I appear to be too far off the beaten path for them to bother with me. π Warmest regards, Theo

Good to hear, Theo. Let’s hope it stays that way. π

Funnily enough, I actually like the canned ‘meat’ called Spam. When I was a child, my Mum used to cook me spam fritters. π
Best wishes, Pete.

I know, Pete. For whatever reason–yikes–I get a lot of spam from obviously mentally ill people. Sad…That, and spam telling me where I can hook up with a prostitute, should I so desire. I don’t think too much of it except, “yuck” and,”that’s sad.” Fortunately my spam folder catches most of it. Either way, it’s delete, delete, delete…

I still get around 12 ‘regular’ Spam comments a day, Pam. Mostly selling medicines, or offering to make my blog more popular. But this person’s ‘comments’ keep getting through, despite me spamming every single one for over a week now. I hope he takes heed, but I fear he won’t.
Best wishes, Pete.

I get the same too! Itβs sickening!

Pete, I think I’ve shared this with you before, but I routinely get dozens of spam emails every day, most from email with “car repair” in the title! Next week I will be sharing a collection of the funniest ones – yes, some are funny in just how awful – and awfully written – they are…the downside of social media to be sure!

I agree that many Spam comments are funny. This character is just sending a business link as a comment. He can’t even be bothered to pretend by adding some relevant words.
Best wishes, Pete.

What a creep…I routinely have to go into my spam folder and clear it as hundreds pile up overnight!

Someone left a link to their blog on my Holocaust post yesterday and I immediately sent it to trash. Sooo annoying!

That is awful. So disrespectful

Probably the same idiot who sends me a link to his business blog every single day, posing as a comment. He has now started to ‘like’ lots of other comments too. Grrr!
Best wishes, Pete.
