I just noticed this

I haven’t been looking at my stats that much this week, but as I published today’s short story, I did notice this on my admin page.

3,035 Posts

I have tipped over the 3,000 posts mark, and only just noticed.

That is a lot of posts. No wonder I have trouble remembering some of them.

So, thanks to everyone who has read them.

  1. Congratulations! I’ve noticed it’s like that. You post and post and post and then one day, you notice some progress. And then you just keep posting. Haha. There will be more progress I’m sure…

        1. It is pronounced ‘Keera’, Michael, and is Irish. 🙂

  2. I also like that you reblog some of your stories. I’ve been following you less than a year. Rather than sorting through so many posts, I love when authors highlight their better pieces. I suppose that it can cut both ways. When someone reblogs something of poor quality, I question how good their material is. With you, that’s never a problem, Pete.

    1. Thanks very much for that, Pete.
Being self-critical, I think my fiction stories have improved over time. But here is one from a long time ago that I quite liked. Let me know what you think.

And this much shorter one was published in a magazine.

      1. Wow! I had no idea where you were going with that first one. That was one valuable letter! When I was a boy, I spent hours collecting postage stamps, so I connected with the story on that level too—unlike the main character, that all went away when I discovered girls. 😎

  3. Congratulations Pete! That’s a lot of wonderful posts to be sure! I’ve got quite a bit of catching up to do. I’m at 689, averaging a post every other day which is more than I thought I’d do at the start. Still, I don’t know how you daily bloggers do it!

    1. Thanks, Susanne. I set aside time every day. It is my only real hobby, and other than going out with Ollie, it is the main thing I do. After dinner, I check out blog comments and sometimes write up a story for the next day. It never seems a chore to me, as it keeps me alert and active socially. At least ‘online socially’! 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.

  4. Time has a way of passing too quickly. The good part is that you have now established, for all time yet to come, a repository of highly-readable material that will form part of the Human consciousness for ages to come … and not everybody can lay claim to an accomplishment like that. Be proud!

  5. I love realizing how much one can write by just doing a post a day. I just received back my fifth volume of bound posts. It’s also fun to read early ones and have no memory of having written them.

      1. As far as I know, Elizabeth sends her blog posts to a company in France, and they send them back as bound books. I once asked her if it was expensive, and she told me it was. Hopefully she will see your questions, and give you details. 🙂

      2. I use a French outfit called Blookup. It is expensive, but they do amazing work. Each volume holds nearly a year’s worth of my almost daily posting. I wanted to have a hard copy for my grandchildren.

        1. Thank you so much! Do you have to have hard copies of your blog posts to give them or is there a way for them to access your posts electronically? Most of mine are online only and I’ve been looking for a way to download them in a properly formatted way.

    1. I have no idea, Shaily. I thought it was perhaps 2,000, as the long serials certainly add up. But I suppose because I usually blog every day, seven days a week for over seven years, it all just ‘happened’. 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.
