Hard to believe, but I actually made it to the end of today’s Twitter time-line! That’s a first for me, and I was amazed that there were no more tweets to view after 23 minutes of scrolling through and re-tweeting as I waited for the dinner to cook.
I have no doubt that if I logged back on, there might be as many as forty new tweets to peruse. But that’s my daily dose of Twitter over with for now.
Maybe it’s a slack Saturday? I have no idea why for the first time since I have been on Twitter, that ‘Tweetalanche’ stopped running, even for just a moment. Long enough for my cursor to get to the end of the screen, with nothing else left to see.
It feels as if I have just finished reading the Oxford English Dictionary, and there are no new words.
It says a lot about me, and about Social Media in the 21st century, that I consider this to be some kind of achievement.
Maybe you may need to follow more active users on Twitter.

Given my own personal changes this past year, I often log in here or Facebook (the only 2 social accounts I have) once a week or so – I gave up long ago on catching up at FB – Here, I feel the glow of achievement, too – to work through my list of articles from the bloggers I follow that posted since I was last here – :). I sometimes ‘sneak” while cooking dinner or running a kitchen experiment, etc., as I do have WP on my phone – after watching my friends, for years, I have never installed FB on my phone – LOL

I try to read and comment on every blog post each day. Most days, I do manage to do that. But I have never had a Facebook account, as that platform always seems ‘relentless’ to me. My wife is on Facebook on her phone all day. ๐
Thanks, TamrahJo.
Best wishes, Pete.

I wasn’t going for it at all, GP. I was simply amazed when it stopped! This post was ‘ironic’, in that respect. ๐

I tweet when I have finished with my emails, goodreads, my writing and my wordpress blog so it doesn’t get much time as the table is needed for a meal. The best ones are the tweets about what is happening locally.I went on to find people who wanted to read my books but I am a small fish in a very big pond.

I do much the same. Everything else first, then Twitter while dinner is cooking.
Thanks, Julie. ๐

I’m glad I have Facebook down to about 5 minutes a day , enough time to read my notifications which are rarely in double figures, mostly nearby events or promotions, lost animals and occasional updates from friends. I occasionally get lost in the classified ads, it is surprising what people are selling. Thankfully Twitter never grabbed me and Instagram is only ever viewed when waiting in queues ๐

I am not on Instagram or Facebook. Most of my spare time is taken up with the blogs.

I haven’t figured out Twitter or Instagram yet. After several months of mystery, I threw in the towel. May be once i retire in another 20 or so years, I’ll have the time…if Twitter exists them.

I doubt I will ever figure it out, Shaily. But I do get some promotion of my blog posts, and in return I retweet some of the other people’s stuff. ๐

I can understand that, Lauren. I tend to follow quite a few people who are not bloggers, but put things on Twitter that I like to see. ๐
I also follow some people on Twitter who were kind enough to follow my blog, but do not comment or engage on WordPress.
Best wishes, Pete.

I think Trump has ruined Twitter.
But, congrats to you. ๐

Thanks, Marjie. I was being ironic of course. I don’t follow anyone like Trump, though some I follow tend to tweet against him a lot. I tend to stay out of American politics, and have a different blog for my own European political rants! ๐

I might add that when I joined Twitter it used to be a lot more fun and then came Trump as president and no longer any fun. (at least for me.)
I have great detest for Trump.

I just ran to Twitter, and discovered that I’d hit a milestone! The numbers fluctuate, and they’re bound to fall a bit before trending back upwards, but I have finally passed the 1,000 Followers mark. As of this very moment, I have 1,003 followers! Yee-haw!
