A Poorly Dog

Ollie is not on good form today. He is limping around on three legs, and his usual happy expression has deserted him. He has almost certainly pulled a muscle in his thigh, after chasing a deer at great speed a couple of days ago. It looks so sad, to see him holding up the leg as he tries to get around.

Even his curly tail is at ‘half-mast’!

But I am guessing that when he sees his lead appear soon, and knows it is time for his walk on the nature reserve, he will forget the pain.

    1. No need for the vet., Suzan. He had muscle pain, and forgot about it after a long walk. šŸ™‚
(Situation normal at home, no change. šŸ™‚ )

  2. glad he got better. Hi there. I am going around the neighborhood introducing myself. My name is Marc. My blog contains excerpts from my book The Driveway Rules. It contains memoirs about growing up with undiagnosed autism. I hope you stop by.

  3. I get it. Our sheltie, Remy, limps around from his torn meniscus that healed awhile back, then her takes off like a gazelle after the mail truck he can’t get to thanks to his invisible fence. Then, he limps inside at bedtime.

  4. As my last dog’s arthritis progressed, this happened more and more. The good news was it was usually better by the next day or two. Let’s hope Ollie is out and about soon

  5. Ollie, little Finley can’t use one of her back legs. She understands. And when she does something to make it worse, she bats her cute wittle black eyes and seems to get a little extra roast beef on occasion. For some reason, she’ll never completely heal. šŸ˜šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ’ššŸ¶

  6. This reminds me of an incident that occurred during the old colonial days in Tanzania…
Every day, Zack and Zilla went up the hill to fetch a pail of water for their dog, Zanzibark.
One day, Zack, who was getting up in years, fell hard to the ground.
He’d pulled the muscles in both of his upper legs.
Zilla helped Zack back to his feet. “Well, at least you didn’t break any bones.”
Zack winced in pain, and replied, “Thank God, Zilla! Thighs matter…”

  7. All your followers will need bulletins about Ollie. His welfare, and that of all our innocent animal and child dependents, is essential to me, unlike that of adult political leaders, who are rewarded for gambling knowingly with our fates as well as their own. (Headline in The Guardian: Boris Johnson ‘continues to improve’. Not in my opinion!) Best wishes to you both xx

    1. Thanks, Pippa. Ollie cheered up when his lead appeared, and ran straight into the river when we got there.
As for Boris, you know my feelings about him and his gang of cronies.
      Best wishes, Pete. xx

  8. Hi Pete, Diesel snapped a tendon last year and the vet considered an operation but said as he was 14 and very small and light the muscles might hold the leg together so we didn’t risk it. Nearly a year later i think he’s forgotten all about it and no longer hops about on three legs. Just take things slowly and we wish him, and you, well.
