Blog Feature: Usual Muttwits

Some readers may recall a blog started by one of my oldest friends, Julian. It was full of amusing stories about the doggy residents of an imaginary town, and their feline arch-enemy. Well that blog has been revamped, and now has great new illustrations by Zozo alongside the amusing stories.

Each character now has their own feature too, with the drawings summing them up perfectly.

Whether lamenting about the lack of available food, or investigating new canine arrivals, the antics of the Muttwits gang reads like a wonderful soap opera of the activities of all the pets in the town of Westley Piddle. If you own a dog, have ever owned one, or just love them, I am sure you will find this blog a delight. There is also a book in the works.

    2. I totally agree Jennie. The passing of my German Shepherd (of 12 years) last year inspired me to get this site together with Zeynep. Yes, it is about loads of different muttwits – but deep down it is a love song to my darling companion Boomer. 🐾

  6. bookmarked the link to dive into for reading – reminded me of a picture described to me by my dad – long ago – he said, “everyone seems to know about the painting of dogs playing cards/poker, but there was another one done by that artist that had dogs in the setting of the local watering hole (bar/pub) and that one, though I only saw it once, was my favorite one” – – LOL

    2. Erh, that’s thanks to Pete kicking me up my furry butt and fast tracking that saucy muttwit into Westley Piddle. Working on it now…

      Thing is, there are so many dogs (30 so far) who are part of the stories (trot-on parts!), and the number is just gonna keep on growing and growing. Phew, what a pack! 😀🐾

    2. Thank you Robbie, Zeynep (Zozo) is amazingly talented and I was so lucky to meet her. No only does she love animals (see her page where she discusses actively supporting various animal shelters in Turkey) but she even gets my questionable humor!! 🤭🐾
