Apologies to the regular readers, but there will be no episode of ‘Vera’s Life’ today.
Problems with the heating boiler, followed by having to hack my way through 15 feet of brambles that had grown over from next door and reached the garage.
Next episode on Monday!
Yard work? I am already tired for you chuq

It was a struggle with the brambles, and it left me hot and tired. But it will be a while before I have to tackle them again.
Best wishes, Pete.

I had a bout with honeysuckle a couple of years ago…..trying to take over the back of the property…it took 2 seasons to win the battle. chuq

At least that smells nice, and doesn’t stab you with thorns. 🙂

But it can grow about 5 feet overnight. We have a thorny vine for the stabs and it sneaks in from time to time. chuq

Phil says feel lucky you still can do it, and that you’ve got it to do and not be living in a high rise flat! 🤣🤣 well done Pete, looking forward to the next episode tomorrow. X

Phil could be right, about that of course, but it was a lot of brambles! My fault for letting them get like that, I know.
Best wishes, Pete.

Ugh…so sorry to hear you’ve been having a bad day Pete. Hope things will be better tomorrow, and thanks for being so considerate as always 😊

At least we still have hot water, using the back-up system. Not as if we need the heating on at the moment, fortunately. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Yeah, I guess that is true. Always a silver lining I guess 😊

You must take care of your priorities, there’s no need to apologize.

We’re looking at 45°-46° C this week. I’d rather face the brambles.

Yes, it didn’t take as long as I feared. I got hot though, even in 25 C.
Best wishes, Pete.

Grr… to brambles! I am always hacking down those that come in from both sides of my garden!

I let them go too long, and just had to tackle them today, so the heating engineer can get access to the vent! 🙂
At least it wwasn’t as hot as last week. 😦
(Did you see my email about my comment not showing on your latest post?)
Best wishes, Pete. x

Thanks, Kim. All done with the brambles now, and hopefully the boiler will be fixed next week. We have a backup electric hot water heater, so won’t have to stay dirty. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, I hope the heatwave broke before you dug into those brambles!

It was 25 C, and overcast. Still broke a sweat over them though!
Best wishes, Pete.
