Hard to believe, I know, but I am currently the Fashion writer for Mythaxis Magazine. It is ‘fashion’ with a difference of course, and somewhat tongue in cheek. Coming to this role late in life makes me approach it from a different perspective, so don’t expect any reviews of skinny jeans, swimwear, or male moisturisers.
For anyone interested, here is the link to my latest article for the magazine.
I love this, Pete!

I read t!! Good for you and I so hope you are feeling better. I have thought of you often. Technology has about broken my heart too! On top of everything else, my remote classes have changed up-ugh!! Stay well and know you are thought of-xMichele

Thanks, dear Michele. I am at the end of the worst of the Flu now. At least I hope so. ๐

Perfect! I must pass it onto my mother as well. She’s forever complaining about uncomfortable shoes, but every time I suggest she buys some comfortable shoes she insists they are “ugly”. Anything comfortable looks pretty to me, and even more to my feet. I look forward to more fashion advice, Pete. An absolute winner!

Thanks, Olga. It is supposed to be a ‘spoof’, but I try to sneak in some actual advice.

It’s look like you covered all the bases Pete! I hate to admit I have a pair of sandals whose straps attach with velcro! I should have read your piece before I got them! ๐

I was talking about the huge velcro pads that flop over the front of some supposedly formal shoes to secure them. You are okay with your sandals. ๐
Best wishes, Pete.

Great article Pete ๐ I just love what the slippers say on it ๐ I tried to leave a comment, but it has not accepted it. Anyway, keep up the great work as always ๐
P.S. did you hear that Spitting Image is coming back on a UK service called “Brit Box” I believe? ๐ I hope it remains every bit as sharp as it was during the 80’s and early 90’s because since then, the world itself has debatably become a Spitting Image sketch. Either way, here is a youtube video link to the trailer below ๐

Thanks for the trailer, John. I don’t subscibe to Britbox, and it’s a shame that Spitting Image couldn’t return on a mainstream channel.
Best wishes, Pete.

Don’t do it, Bobby! You have 20 years before you have to consider velcro straps! ๐

How about belts and belt buckles?

I only have two belts, GP. They are both black leather, with medium-sized buckles. They are the only ones I own, and are identical. I am not a very adventurous belt-owner, as I do not wear jeans, ever.
Best wishes, Pete.

Excellent advice Pete. I tried to comment on the article but got one of those wonky โinvalid security tokenโ messages.๐

Sorry about that, but I have no admin rights to fix it. Hopefully Daniel will sort that out.
Glad you enjoyed my ‘advice’, Kim. ๐

I love it, Pete! A well written write up. Sketchers are amazing! So comfortable. Over here we call the farmers boots rubbers (I know, gross) or galoshes.

I was wearing Skechers today! Galoshes (over here) are rubber covers that fit over normal shoes. Wellington Boots are full-boots, like these.

Sketchers became my foot friends about 5 years ago – theyโre so lightweight – and I agreed wholeheartedly about letting elastic take the strain of getting into and out of shoes and boots ๐๐
