Ollie And The Beauty Parlour

I am just back from collecting Ollie from ‘Pawsh Dogs’, where he goes for his bath and general tidy up a few times a year. He loves Kelly the groomer, and always behaves impeccably while he is there.

As well as being shampooed twice in his special (and very expensive) hypo-allergenic Vet recommended shampoo, he gets his nails clipped, and his ears cleaned too.

He also has his wrinkly face washed. Today’s choice of face wash was Lemon Verbena, with added avocado oil, so it doesn’t irritate his skin.

He looks sleek, and smells great.

If only that lasted for longer than two days!

    1. He is a happy boy, and enjoyed his Christmas presents. Next week, he has to go to the vet to have his annual health check and booster injections. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Best wishes, Pete. xx

  1. Aww, what a treat for Ollie. Just so you know, children for (at least) the past ten years have no idea what a ‘beauty parlor’ is. Years ago a child asked me if I got a haircut and I told her yes, I had been to the beauty parlor. The blank stares of every child prompted me to tell them about both beauty parlors and barber shops. I even showed them photos of barber poles. I thought you might enjoy that story, Pete.

    1. It is a rather old fashioned name now. Most refer to ‘Groomers’ for dogs, and ‘Hairdressers’ for people. ๐Ÿ™‚ The local barber in Dereham still has a red and white sign, but not a real ‘pole’. That originated when barbers were also ‘surgeon-barbers’, advertising their skills at minor operations and tooth extractions.

  2. My sisters grooming parlour ‘Doggy Styling’ uses only the finest hand made soaps from Poland ๐Ÿ™‚ I was chuffed when one of her customers insisted that she use one of our soaps, or should that be the owner of one of her customers ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. He would go straight for the mud and river if I let him, Carol. But I will take him to the woods near the village hall for a couple of days, and let him stay relatively dry. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Best wishes, Pete.

  3. I imagine Ollie is very handsome after returning from the groomers! I love it when our sweet dog Shaggy is freshly groomed. They usually add a brightly colored collar made with material that matches the season. He’s quite proud of his cloth collars! Life would not be the same without Shaggy, C
