Jamiroquai: It’s Happening Again

Back in 2016, I published a post about the British music group, Jamiroquai.

Whatever happened to?: Jamiroquai

It was rather a niche subject, but I thought it might be of interest to other British fans of that band. I had little idea then that it would become something of a blogging phenomenon, and spawn many more posts on the subject. Regular readers are probably stifling a yawn right now, thinking ‘Oh no, not that again!’

Since that day, it has stayed as the most-read post on this blog, by far. It even leads the regularly-read ‘About’ page by more than 1,000 views.

As of this morning, that post is still proudly holding top spot, with 5,014 views in four years.

But why am I mentioning it again? (I hear you cry…)

It always has at least one view every day, sometimes as many as six. Since that avalanche of views four years ago it has slowed to a trickle, but it is always there in the stats.

Then I noticed this, number five in the most-read posts since last Sunday.

Could it be happening again?

  1. I had to laugh when I saw that they were back. I remember an old kid’s song that went “but the cat came back” about a cat that just wouldn’t stay away. I guess your group is like that.

  2. I wish the numbers or hits weren’t so important but as a blogger it’s hard to ignore the post that sink and the ones that magically stay afloat. I can’t make any sense of it. My husband says posts about him are the most popular, and for the most part that is true, and I’m still confused? Love that you had such success with this one Pete, C

    1. I gave up wondering which posts might get the most attention when this one was getting so many views every day. Posts with photos are also very popular, as are posts about Ollie. But whatever is in the top ten, I still write what I want, for myself. 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.

    1. I saw them on Jools Holland. That’s probably why the spike of interest started again, Julie.
I listen to lots of very old music on You Tube. I am a big fan of Al Bowlly, and it is all on there. You can find almost anything on You Tube! 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.
