Waking up late, and writing.
I woke up late today, nine fifty-six, to be precise. Unlike last week, I didn’t lie in bed thinking random thoughts, but got up with something specific on my mind.
I was busy doing stuff yesterday, so didn’t write an episode of the latest serial. And that also meant that I didn’t write today’s episode in advance, something I generally do, especially at weekends.
Later this afternoon, I also didn’t write tomorrow’s episode, let alone writing and posting the one that should have gone out today. So by tomorrow, I will techically be two episodes behind. Hopefully, this is just a blip, and not a case of writer’s block.
We will all find out tomorrow.
( On the plus side, Ollie met new friends on his walk today. Bambi, a dog rescued from a life on the streets in Croatia, having to stay on her lead in case she runs away. At least until she is used to the area, and her new home. Then Misty, a Collie pup with pale grey and white fur. Twenty weeks old, and excitable. Both of those new arrivals were a little bit ‘in your face’ for Ollie’s liking. But he will get used to them in time. )
Cause I’m right there with him! π

Is Ollie entering his oler grumpy statesman phase?

He is less interested in puppies now he is older. He ‘gracefully ignores’ them. π

Pete, you never have writer’s block. A breath of fresh air for a day or two is what everyone needs. I seriously doubt any of your followers would have an issue if there wasn’t an episode posted. As to Ollie, how exciting that he has met some new friends! I’ll bet he’ll get used to them and be happy to see them on his walks. Best to you, Pete.

Thanks, Jennie. I missed three days, so will hopefully get to my serial later today.

I am jealous….insomnia keeps me from getting much sleep let alone sleeping late….sounds like Ollie had full day of fun. chuq

I don’t always have such long sleeps, but enjoy them when I do. Ollie was stand-offish with the new dogs, but he will get used to them.
Best wishes, Pete.

Great post π I think you will get over your writer’s block gradually π I have gotten that a good many times and I always find myself getting out of it π Anyway, keep up the great work as always π

Thanks, John. I do actually like the discipline of a daily serial, but that escaped me this weekend, for some reason.
Best wishes, Pete.

paraphased quote from documentary I watched this morning, regarding the riot/looting that happened during the 1977 Black Out in New York, New York and local ‘burbs’ – – “Anger stems from being unheard, or not noticed and when any attempt to be heard is ignored, anger erupts and often damages the very thing that is closest to one, instead of against what is really the cause” – I love that line and/or what I ‘heard’/paraphrased as and well – rescue from Croatia or ‘new to the area’? On either side, given human tendencies/takes on the matter – and age old ‘advice’ that the strongest defense is a great offense’ – not surprising – at all – to me – – π

They were being over-friendly rather than on the offence, but I get your meaning. π

(1) In a bad year, I would have condemned your blip. But this is a Goodyear Blip.
(2) Bambi is such a dear!
(3) Note to Ollie: Play Misty for me!
(4) Bit in your face? Did the dog have sharp teeth?
(5) I didn’t lie in bed either. I waited until I was out of bed to start telling lies.

It’s nice to have a lie-in once in a while.

I didn’t actually wake up until that time, so I didn’t count it as lying-in. π

Since you have been publishing an episode a day for well on a long time, it is time you took two days off. Warmest regards, Theo

Thanks, Theo. I can explain to myself about Saturday, as I was aware I was too busy. But then today escaped me as well. π

I didn’t get any writing done this weekend either, Pete. Well, not on my WIPs in any event. I did write a few posts for the launch of A Ghost and His Gold. They take ages to write.

My current serial does entail some research, but it usually only takes me an hour, icluding typing the 800 words. But after being too busy to do it yesterday, I think I lost the momentum briefly.
Best wishes, Pete.
