Then pushed the jagged remains in the direction of my face.
“Want some of this, do ya?”
I didn’t. So I walked out. Backwards.
To find somewhere else to drink.
And left him gloating over his small victory.

I would also get out of there, as fast as possible. Unless I needed to defend my sons. Then I’d beat him into a pulp. Don’t laugh, I am know for red rages and ‘lashing’.

I had that experience on a subway car in NYC once. I was very startled since I wasn’t looking at anyone. I guess my zoned out look was taken personally.

A ‘wannabe’ gangster, in a South London pub. Trying to make a name for himself by intimidating youger men. I didn’t hang around long enough for him to glass me. Nobody phoned the police back then.
