Sometimes I wonder, if I had known that this would be the “last time”, would I have made more of an effort to remember details? Would I have done anything differently? Food for thought….
Painful details are better left forgotten. Unfortunately, mine are stamped in my memory for the last 12 years… outside court house. He glared, I smiled.
Funny how often we can remember our meeting for the first time and forget the parting for the last time.

Very true, Elizabeth. My main interest is why I even thought of it that day. No idea at all.
Best wishes, Pete.

Why does it matter? After all, the end was unpleasant. Warmest regards, Theo

It doesn’t matter, I know. I was more interested as to why I was even thinking about it.

I wonder that a lot. But I am also wondering why this thought ever popped into my head after a very long time.

Because of my traumatic childhood, my mind tends to block out unpleasant memories, even now, which drives me a little crazy at times.

The mystery here is why I was trying to remember. Now I can’t even remember that.
Best wishes, Pete.

You said:
“A token for your thoughts.”
And I said:
“I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh
As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers
I will say this last goodbye”
But I have a hobbit of forgetting things. I don’t recall where we were at the time…

I haven’t read The Hobbit since I was in junior school David. And I never watched the films. It’s a lovely quote though. 🙂
