Easing Off

Everyone who follows this blog will know that I have been posting a great deal during the past year or more. Three posts most days, four on some, even five on occasion.

Tomorrow, I start publication of a new fiction serial, and other than any exceptional happenings concerning Ollie, or the welcome receipt of a guest post, that will be the only post until it concludes. I am easing off, and will not be posting so much for a while, as I genuinely feel that I have been churning out too much, for too long. That’s a big ask from my readers, and my dear blogging friends.

So if you were wondering, (and why on Earth should you?) that is why there will not be so many posts from me, starting this week.

I hope everyone in England had an enjoyable Spring Bank Holiday, and that everyone in America was able to remember their fallen, on Memorial Day.

The weather here today was glorious, and we took Ollie to Thetford Forest, for a change of scene. That change of scene was mostly for me of course. Ollie would have been much happier to do his usual circuits of Beetley Meadows and Hoe Rough. But he does enjoy a car journey, so forty minutes each way made him feel good to be in ‘his’ car.

    1. I have cut back, starting this week. Today was an exception as I posted an extra post about WP glitches, and had a guest post that I had asked to be submitted. I am going to try to stick to just 1-2 posts a day for a while. My views have gone down from 800 to 300 overnight, and that saves me a lot of time replying to comments and writing posts.
      Best wishes, Pete.

      1. I spend more time reading my fellow bloggers posts and answering my thank you notes (comments) than I do writing a post. How about you? If I did 1-2 a day, I would not have time to teach. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Thanks, Cheryl. It was getting so that I was blogging for five hours a day, seven days a week. All very well in the winter, but now I want to sit outside in the evening with Ollie, and enjoy my wine in the sun. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Do enjoy a bit more time off the blog, Pete. Summer feels like one should be slowing down, or at least, changing and doing different kinds of things. For my part, one of my students is in school, and we’ll have the usual summer break, so I hope to have more time to dedicate to other projects. And hopefully to catch up on more of other people’s writing as well. I’ve enjoyed the beginning of the serial, and I am sure it will be fabulous. Take care and love to Ollie and the rest of the family.

    1. Thanks for giving me that special treatment, Peggy. I do appreciate that. When my daily views started to hit 750-800 on a regular basis, I was spending far too much time on my blog. I can give you readers a break, and allow myself some extra time too. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Best wishes, Pete.

  4. Looking forward to the new serial, last time I was near Thetford was at the training area, woke up in the morning (or was it the middle of the night) covered in the largest insect bites , looked like the elephant man, lots of laughter but not from me
    Have a refreshing ease off.

  5. I also work on the assumption that less is more. Thetford Forest is also about 40 minutes’ drive from us. If you’re ever at High Lodge let me know and Sam and I will bring the bikes and we can meet up for a cup of tea, lol.

    1. I have nothing but time off, Jon. That is my life in retirement. ๐Ÿ™‚
Bank holidays mean nothing to me, except to avoid coastal resorts, and that my wife doesn’t have to go to work. ๐Ÿ™‚ (Oh, and Tesco is only open until 6pm. But I went early, 11:30)
      Best wishes, Pete.

  6. I’ve also cut back quite a lot, though I never posted as often as you, mainly because I just don’t feel the urge as much these days. Sort of winding down, I guess, but maybe I’ll get my mojo back someday ๐Ÿ˜
