On a bright and sunny walk this afternoon, I finally started to see some changes in the trees and the local woodland. Unfortunately, Ollie was not in the mood to be photographed today!
(The photos can be clicked on. This takes you to a Flickr link where you can enlarge them.)
While it has rained a great deal, it has been cold enough for our leaves to turn. Snow is even a possibility in a week.

Not cold enough here for the leaves yet. They are still very green.
Best wishes, Pete.

We just took out the window air conditioners, so it has been warm longer here than usual too.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful surroundings, Pete. Not much of that around here. Stay well and love to Ollie.

The best thing is that it is only around 200 yards from our front door, Olga.

Nice to see the change of seasons, Pete…people joke that there is no such thing in Los Angeles and for the most part, that is true!

It is late arriving here, John. Too warm (13C) here at the moment.
Best wishes, Pete.

But still looks pretty green with you. Here the leaves are already off, and I had spent an hour today clearing them aside. 😉 Our neighbor has concreted her yard, and every single leaf touching her soil is immediately thrown back to us, by her. Lol xx Michael

Still very green, Michael. The temperature is still relatively warm.

Very green still, Beth. It has been unusually warm for the time of year, and that seems to have fooled the trees. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

More green than fall color here in Texas. Our leaves hit their stride in mid to late November. Fall here, last only a few days then it turns to winter, that also last a few weeks, then it’s back to summer again. The leaves here have to be quick.

It is like that here sometimes, Phil. One day the hedges at the front are green, the next all brown. Two days later, bare branches and twigs.
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks, FR. Still mostly green in Beetley, as you can see. Once the temperatures drop back to normal, it will probably turn quickly.
Best wishes, Pete.

Love this time of year when it’s a good autumn, not convinced about this one yet!

Is it green because you’ve had so much rain or because the temperatures are still higher?

I suspect it is a combination of both, Robbie. Despite some chilly wind, we have had unusually high temperatures for Autumn.
Best wishes, Pete.

Here in Nevada, the aspens turn golden in the mountains in late September. A few trees here in the desert valley are showing hints of autumn colors, but most trees will remain green throughout October and well into November.
