These are the rest of the photos I am posting from my visit to Pensthorpe last Friday.
(All photos can be enlarged by clicking on them, which will take you to a Flickr link.)
A pair of Swans with a huge area all to themselves.
A quiet spot to sit.
This sleeping duck was well-camouflaged.
Birds squabbling over the best dry spot in the lake.
A water feature and some nice daffodils.
Canada Geese running away from me, honking their displeasure.
Two other geese nearby, not at all concerned by my presence.
This idyllic spot didn’t have a single bird choosing to use it.
That’s all for this visit to Pensthorpe, but I am sure I will go back again one day.
Lovely!

Thats a wonderful idyllic park. Thanks for sharing the insights, Pete! I am sure actually its great for calming down, but during summer there will be too much trouble, brought by too much visitors. xx Michael

I want to go back, but I would not visit on a Sunday, or during the school holidays. Perhaps in September, on a weekday. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Lovely, Pete enjoy! While you can as we all know the UK weather can be fickle 🙂 x

It is supposed to stay like this until next Monday at least. 🙂 x

I guess those geese didn’t want to join your birthday celebrations, Pete. What a lovely place, and you had the right day for it as well. I hope it is staying nice there (here we’re having plenty of rain and more due to come. We needed it, but not all in one go…) Be well.

Did you see any black swans there? And were any swans aggressive towards people? I enjoyed your photos. It’s the kind of place where I would happily spend a long afternoon.

They didn’t have any black swans, David. One of those white ones pictured did hiss loudly at Julie when she got close to the water, but it swam away after that.
Best wishes, Pete.

Nice job of showing the pace off. Do you like using flickr as a photo host compared to just imbedding them on WP? Warmest regards, Theo

Yes, I have been using Flickr for large file photos since you and FR were successful in doing the same. It has saved me ‘oodles’ of space on my WP allowance.
Best wishes, Pete.

It is worth the trip. It has a huge play area for youngsters which serves to keep them away from where we want to go! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Entry was £9 each for adults, and the car park was free.

Clare Castle Park was free apart from the parking. We paid £3.30 for 3 hours.

Ah, it says £2 all day on their website. They need to update that.
