This makes me think of all the changes in the world, some for the better, some not so much. I do miss my old record player, paper maps, and the milk man. xxoo, C
My mother had one for a long time. Mine had cartridges. At school we used ink wells and pens with nibs. I can still smell the ink that came in a bottle.
Of course, one no longer needs a fountain pen, but still there are people who really like writing with one. It’s just the feeling, as with holding a real book in one’s hand as opposed to a reader on the computer or cell phone. I sometimes use an ink-pen, albeit with ink cartridges. I should do that more often as it improves my handwriting, which has deteriorated over the years of just typing on a keyboard.
Thanks, Pit. I do actually own a rather lovely fountain pen, a Mont Blanc with a gold nib. But I rarely have any occasion to use it these days.
Best wishes, Pete.
The good old Fountain pen with ink. I really loved this. xx Michael

Record players are ‘cool’ again now. I still use paper maps. Some things come back in favour, others never go out of use. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x

And those are so modern they aren’t even antiques yet. Warmest regards, Theo (PS I used an insulin syringe to fill my cart ridges).

Left them behind at primary school 🙂

Most people did, and I doubt anyone under 40 ever used one at school since.
Cheers mate, Pete.

Very glad to hear that, chuq. I doubt there are many people under the age of 45 that have ever used one.

That’s fancy! This is the one I have. I had no idea how expensive it was when it was gifted to me.

Ha ha: still have 2 [different nib widths], which I use for writing birthday cards [and very occasionally, a cheque!]. Cheers, Jon.
