Ever since I was a child, I have anticipated the arrival of an alien life form on Earth. Proof positive that we are not alone in the limitless universe.
However, I had long since given up on the chance of this happening before I died. Or ever in the future.
Then I read this…
It is delightful to wonder.

I’m just hoping it isn’t something we beamed out, now beaming back. π

I thought of that, and then thought surely they would recognize a signal we sent. But then . . . Warmest regards, Theo

The radio signals were finally deciphered: “Boris Johnson rocks!”
Aliens are really stupid…

no way we can be the smartest ones in the universe!)

I’ve always felt that in such a huge universe, it would very egotistical for man to think he was the only life form. Technically, in our definition of time, we are a rather young planet – so how many other planets had an earlier start than ours? The numbers are incomprehensible.

Incomprehensible is a good word, GP. I hope that one day we are visited by other life forms. I just won’t be around to see that happen.
Best wishes, Pete.

Steven Hawking said we should beware of that. Remember what happened when outsiders landed by the Native Americans. It’s not always a pleasant experience, they may be stronger, smarter and carry dreadful diseases.
Take care.

Think I ve seen enough movies never to want to meet an alien!

I prefer to think of them as super-intelligent and helpful. So I hope they don’t eat me when they get here!
Best wishes, Pete.

Hmm, that kind of never comes across in the movies! Well, maybe E.T, but he was pretty useless.

It would be arrogant to assume we are the only “intelligent” life form. How can there not be other life out there. My hope is that there are some that are less flawed.

As crazy as the Earth is these days, Pete…it would not surprise me if aliens have decided to skip over our planet from their original itinerary.

Were they here first, and are now disgusted at the mess we made of it? I like to think humans are not the only creatures in the universe, Bruce.

If you can find it, you might enjoy reading “The Day After Roswell”, by Philip Corso, a retired military man, who had top level access to all the files & artefacts; he might be dead by now, but he is quite categorical that alien life exists, visited us before & at the time of the Roswell crash, and that much of their tech was reverse-engineered to give us microchips, fibre optics, lasers, and much more. Is it true? It’s very convincing π Cheers, Jon.

You do know that spurious radio signals occur naturally I hope? Most are not man made, despite what the UFO fraternity may try to sell to us…

There are so many galaxies out there – who knows if there’s life (but not as we know it, Jim) on other planets? There’s got to be more than just a Sainsbury’s shopping trolley …

They should be looking for plastic carrier bags caught on trees. A sure sign of ‘intelligent’ life! π

Donβt forget FRB signals take hundreds, thousands, or even millions of years to reach us, just like light, Pete, so the signal sources might have long since died off. Even the galaxies and stars shown in the Webb and Hubble telescope photos are not actually now even in the locations being photographed.
