After a couple of days spent mostly in bed, I am now on the road to recovery. I starved myself yesterday, and that seems to have done the trick.
Ollie also seems to be responding to the large amount of medication I have been giving him. He ate his food late yesterday afternoon, and slept undisturbed by pain last night.
Sadly, I have not been able to keep up with any of your posts, so I am starting fresh today. Hopefully, my next serial episode will also appear at some stage.
We have some more hot weather forecast for the weekend, but nowhere near as hot as it was earlier this week. Fingers crossed we have seen the last of those exceptional temperatures for this year.

Our bodies are not used to such extreme heat. Here it has interfered with my appetite as it did with Ollie. Hope you are back to yourself soon.

We are both still getting there slowly, Robbie. Ollie has another 9 days of tablets to take, and I am doing very little until I feel better. I am back to blogging though, so that cheered me up.

Glad you and Ollie are on the mend. We were supposed to be on a canal boat along the Norfolk Broads today to celebrate our son’s 40th birthday, but he came down with the Rona and I had to postpone the trip until September.

That’s a shame. We have been to the Broads a fair bit since we moved here, but so far we haven’t taken a boat out. It always seems to be incredibly busy on the water there.

You should come and live in Wales! We only ever get the crumbs of England’s heatwaves, and those don’t last long. It’s grim here today, cold and dark as November.

I remember a two-week summer holiday in Pembrokeshire. It rained every day, and didn’t even get to 18C. I had to buy a cagoule and some waterproof trousers!

Ah yes, the castles – I’m lucky enough to live near one. And the beach – I suppose that’s why I’d like warmer, drier weather. On the other hand, the rain isn’t such a bad thing. At least it means things won’t go on fire.
