Because we have been to the same place many times in the past few years, I didn’t take many photos last week. I only took one camera, the Fuji X-30 that I bought some years ago. I will be featuring some of the photos I took over the next few days.
(All photos can be enlarged by clicking on them.)
Ollie was in the cabin, and not happy about having his photo taken. So Julie streched out on a sofa and gave him a stroke to keep him still. This means the photo is not very sharp, and her hand is blurred.
The cabin we stayed in is in the garden of the only large hotel in the town. The beach and seafront are just the other side of the road. The beaches stretch for miles, and were mostly deserted. I spotted a couple walking their small dog, and took this to show the scale.
This man was well-prepared for sea-fishing from his chosen spot on the beach. He was the only fisherman there that day. The first photo shows him isolated on the beach, and the second is zoomed in for a closer look. He had to move soon after they were taken as the tide was coming in fast.
More to come from Lincolnshire tomorrow.
Ollie’s questioning view. :-)) Unpayable! 😉 xx Michael

The beach is huge. What a delight to vacation in such a place, especially the solitude.

I like the look of the place. Beautiful, calm, and quiet. The fisherman seems to know how to do the “gone fishing” comfortably. Thanks for sharing your holiday pics, Pete.

It’s a peaceful seaside town that hasn’t really changed since the 1950s, Olga.

In the other direction there was nobody on the beach at all, as far as the eye could see. Just how I like it. 🙂

He has never liked me using cameras, Liz. I think it is because they cover my face.

Interesting! I’ve never heard of that dog behavior before, but it makes sense.

Looks as if you all had a nice break (well deserved) great location and weather not too bad either.

We were lucky with the weather, Bobby. Not as hot there as it was in September 2021 though.
Cheers, Pete.

I prefer beaches like that.
I can tell Ollie wasn’t all that happy at the time of the photo.

So true the best time to hit the beach is after school has begun. Way less traffic to and from, and on the beach itself of course. The weather often cooperates as well!

This is a very quiet part of England, Bruce. It is certainly busier in the school holidays, but it has no real family attractions like arcades, funfairs and such like. Most people who live there are retired, and you can sense the peace in that small town. That’s why we keep going back there.
At one time, we were going to live there, but that didn’t work out and we ended up 100 miles south, in Norfolk.
Best wishes, Pete.

What an amazing expanse of beach! It’s funny how some animals don’t like to be photographed yet others seem to pose. Nice to see Ollie, even if he was reluctant.

More of Ollie this week, Carolyn.
The beach goes for miles in both directions. You can actually walk from where we were to Skegness (tide and some private land permitting) which is over 14 miles south.
Best wishes, Pete.

Yes, we usually prefer to go out of season, but if I take any grandchildren I have to go in August and then it’s hell…

I was married to a college lecturer from 1977-1985. We had to go on holiday in peak season every year. After we divorced, I swore never to do that again. (And I didn’t.)

Lol! We did until the boys left school, and now thankfully we don’t have to unless we take any of the grandchildren on holiday.
