Using some rare moving film images from as long ago as 1890, this 11-minute film contrasts the history of the city with images filmed in 2016 at the same spots.
Very enjoyable Pete. Amazing how much remains despite the Blitz and modern expansion. I watch the people going about their day and I think not much has changed in the human condition. I do admire the lady riding a bike in her long skirt!
It was a nice thing to find online, especially for a ‘displaced’ Londoner.
Best wishes, Pete.

The comparisons are perfectly matched in film location. This was incredible!

I really enjoyed watching this Pete, and I loved the contrast, or not, between the old and new images.

Thanks, Dorothy. As a Londoner, I could really see how little had changed.

It is true that London hasn’t changed that much, despite the war, and ‘progress’. All of it is still familiar to me from my youth.
Best wishes, Pete.

I was struck by how much has stayed the same.
