Just to let you know, there will be no serial episode today, and no other posts. I had to drive Julie into Norwich for MRI scans earlier, and we have just got back.
(Nothing sinister, the scans were for ongoing joint problems caused by Arthritis.)
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
Good to know it all went OK. I hope the results help. Give Julie regards.

Thanks, Olga. It seems like a knee replacement will be required eventually. But the waiting list for that is very long.
Best wishes, Pete.

Sending best wishes to Julie. By working in the Dept of Pain Medicine for over 7 years I remember the nurses championed gentle movement and physio over opiods, the latter causing tolerance if taken over a long period of time.

The scans are supposedly to decide if Physio is going to help, or if surgery is an answer. (On her knee). They have also mentioned Occupational Therapy.
Best wishes, Pete.

I also remember all 3 consultants always added into their letters to take Glucosamine sulphate and to eat more pineapple, ginger and turmeric in the diet.

All the best to Julie, hopefully the treatments will ease her pain.
I hope you have a nice sunday.
After the snow from Friday had almost completely melted yesterday, it is now snowing a little again. Spring 😮
Best wishes, Irene

I was hoping that Spring was back, but we have been forecast more heavy rain and sleet by Tuesday, with a drop down to overnight freezing.
Enjoy your day, dear Irene.

If it aint one thing its another. I used to reassure patients that taking them to their tests was part of progress. Geez if a young ambo said that to me now!!!! Anyway Julie, its all part of progress.

As you know, the diagnostics are necessary to be referred on for more treatment. At least it is still all free here. (For now)
Best wishes, Pete.

They have put her on a slow-release Morphine patch, Cindy. That had really helped over the last six weeks.

Hope Julie gets some therapy that will help. Sometimes the investigations themselves can be exhausting.

I’m glad there is nothing sinister happening. For a moment, I was worried that, due to three holes in its radiator, your car had overheated and run off into the marshes near Rochester to get more water and cool itself off.

I’m glad it’s not anything life threatening. Arthritis isn’t at all pleasant.

It gives her trouble walking at times, and she has lost most of the ‘grip’ in her hands. Once the scan results reach the right people, she might be offered physiotherapy and occupational therapy. As she is only 62, they call it ‘Progressive-Onset Arthritis’.
Thanks, Robbie.
Best wishes, Pete.

I find MRI’s stressful. I hope Julie managed the noise okay.

She was mainly troubled by having to lie on her back for nearly an hour, as that hurt her hips to do so. They gave her earplugs and headphones for the noise, but she could still hear it.
Best wishes, Pete.

My wishes are for Julie to have positive outcomes and to suffer as little as possible; ideally not to suffer at all.
