I make no apologies for featuring more examples of my favourite architecture. These are from America, Australia, Britain, Italy, and Belgium. They include private houses, industrial buildings, offices, and public spaces like swimming pools.
Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre, London.
Former Kodak Offices, now a kitchen company.
The Daily Express Newspaper, London.
A land-drainage pump in Italy, 1934.
Saltdean open-air swimming pool, England.
An office block in Australia.
Private houses.
I am so glad that art deco was and is world wide. Thank you for these marvelous photos!

I love all the pieces. The rounded edges are difficult to create. I specially love the newspaper office. It looks so sleek in black. All it needed was a neck tie. ๐

The newspaper buiding is rightly famous for its design, and the interior too.

My dad was an engineer and used to point to corners and tell me how expensive they were. I wouder what his cost estimate of curved rather than corners were? Warmest regards, Ed

They used a lot of concrete, so I presume that is cheaper than bricks, Ed.

I always rather liked those rounded edges and thought it would be nice to have light filtered through those glass blocks.

I think a bit of research will throw up that Mitchell House is in Melbourne, Australia, rather than just ‘USA’.

Many thanks for that. It was listed as ‘America’ on the original article. I will be happy to make that correction. (Done)

I absolutely love anything art deco. I remember when Miami Beach was mostly art deco. Here is on in Cincinnati, Ohio that I dearly love:

That hotel used to have a revolving French/American Restaurant on the roof and I used to eat there sometimes… I loved Cincinnati and roamed it a lot in the good old days.
