Many chuckles here, Pete! I think the one that says “Life is short … be sure to spend as much time as possible arguing on the Internet about politics” is so so so fitting!!! Love the Alexa ones 😉 and the Pickles ‘toon … you brought me my first smile of the night … thank you!!!

I like dumb headlines in the paper, that clearly the editors didn’t get their children to proof. Usually it just needs a comma or a dash.

Reminds me of the birthday card with three geezers on the front – the first one says “It sure is windy”, the second one says “No, it’s Thursday,” and the third one says “Yeah, I could use a beer.”

I’m not that far off them, Phil.

Some great chuckles…..the first one gets my vote….I hate opera….a bunch of fat Italians yelling at each other. chuq

I have been to a lot of operas in the past, mainly in London, but also in Moscow and Leningrad. I quite enjoy the spectacle. 🙂

When confronted with Artificial Intransigence, take the shoe off the wall and throw it at Alexa. (That is the sole purpose of a single shoe.)

I thought it was a photo of a shoe, and had wondered what its significance was. 🙂

I am convinced that one day Alexa (and others like it) will refuse to perform certain tasks. I would never have one in the house anyway.
Best wishes, Pete.

I won’t have one of those things in my house. For me, it’s more of a concern about spying and data collection for nefarious purposes in the future.

Yes, dressed up as ‘helping the consumer’.

The “helping” equivalent of with friends like these, who needs enemies?

Never dealt with Alexa before, but I found the first two especially funny.

My friend’s Alexa kept talking to him when he hadn’t asked it anything. Eventually he told it to F*** off, whereupon it told him there was no need to be rude. Spooky or what?

I hate those things, and would never have one. It’s like paying someone to live in your house and listen in on your life.
Best wishes, Pete.

Most of them are spot on, Pete; I don’t argue on the internet, though — my blood pressure wouldn’t stand it, plus I have better things to do! The daughter I spend more time with has an Alexa, and I’m always forgetting that they listen, but I suppose the algorithm can differentiate voices anyway, so I should be safe 😉 Cheers, Jon.

I would never have anything like an Alexa, they listen to everything!

As far as I’m concerned, arguing on the internet is a very bad idea.

Yes, I try to avoid that, but some people seem to thrive on it. Especially on Twitter.
