Monday Memes In August

Today is a public holiday in England, so that means we won’t be going out anywhere. This last public holiday of the school break, and the last one before Christmas, will ensure packed resorts and attractions, bad traffic, and impossible parking. Here is something to smile about instead.

  1. (1) “Houston, we have part of a problem.”
    (2) Does International Women’s Day include the cannibal women in the avocado jungle of death?

    (5) She loves edible underwear. First she wears it, and then she eats it.
    (6) When it’s Friday, and you just got paid…a compliment. “It’s amazing how you’re able to make ends meet on this paltry salary!”

    (8) Overheard:
Circus attendee: “Are you always this funny?”
Circus clown: “You should walk a mile in my shoes… Your feet will ache, and you’ll exhaust every curse word in the English language!”

  2. Cloudy here, but some sun as well; cooler, and still tolerable in shorts [indoors, anyway!] Plenty of good laughs today, thanks Pete. I’ll be staying at home until early evening, when I’ll be walking along the west promenade towards the theatre, for the dress rehearsal of my amdram group’s latest production. No worries about parking for me! 😀 Cheers, Jon.

      1. Strangely enough there were no traffic jams and lots of spaces in the car park where we were. I think prices are so high that maybe some people can’t afford to come out. We used to walk into the pleasure beach rides and pay nothing, but now there are turnstiles and you queue up to pay for tickets for the rides. Even if you’re not going on the rides and are watching the kids you still have to pay £5 to go in. What a rip off! Other than that it was a very enjoyable day.

        1. I went to Tesco this afternoon and it was very quiet in the Dereham superstore too. Glad to hear that Gt Yarmouth wasn’t as busy as I expected. I agree it’s a rip-off to make you pay when you’re not going on any rides.

          Best wishes, Pete.
