Today is a public holiday in England, so that means we won’t be going out anywhere. This last public holiday of the school break, and the last one before Christmas, will ensure packed resorts and attractions, bad traffic, and impossible parking. Here is something to smile about instead.

Funny!!

The walk a mile in my shoes bit🤣 A friend’s father had saying (you can use any destination) “So you want to go to Hollywood? Great idea, the walk’ll do you good.”

Cloudy here, but some sun as well; cooler, and still tolerable in shorts [indoors, anyway!] Plenty of good laughs today, thanks Pete. I’ll be staying at home until early evening, when I’ll be walking along the west promenade towards the theatre, for the dress rehearsal of my amdram group’s latest production. No worries about parking for me! 😀 Cheers, Jon.

Have an enjoyable rehearsal, Jon. It is 19C here so far, with hazy sunshine. I hope to still be wearing shorts until at least mid-October!
Best wishes, Pete.

I’m not acting in this one, Pete: it’s an all-women production, this time. It is good to have an audience for the dress rehearsal, though, even if it’s only a handful!

I hope you can get parked. I’m sure it will be rammed today! (No rain forecast that I know of)

Strangely enough there were no traffic jams and lots of spaces in the car park where we were. I think prices are so high that maybe some people can’t afford to come out. We used to walk into the pleasure beach rides and pay nothing, but now there are turnstiles and you queue up to pay for tickets for the rides. Even if you’re not going on the rides and are watching the kids you still have to pay £5 to go in. What a rip off! Other than that it was a very enjoyable day.

I went to Tesco this afternoon and it was very quiet in the Dereham superstore too. Glad to hear that Gt Yarmouth wasn’t as busy as I expected. I agree it’s a rip-off to make you pay when you’re not going on any rides.
Best wishes, Pete.
