I come from a long line of cat lovers. My dad always felt that there was something seriously wrong with any farm that didn’t have cats, no matter how prosperous it might look on the outside. The very first thing my wife and I did when we got out of an apartment and into a place of our own was to get a cat and we’ve had the little stinkers ever since.

I had a cat in the 70s (and a dog). But I had no pets after 1979 once I became an EMT and worked shifts. Once I retired, I got my beloved dog, Ollie. He was friendly with the cat next door, Alfie, and Alfie still comes to me for strokes.
Best wishes, Pete.
