It was a big celebration for the Indian community in London. I remember being given some of their Indian sweets. They were far too sweet!
Best wishes,Pete.
I first heard of this light festival two years back, and since I know more about it, I think itβs a wonderful thing to celebrate. Especially considering how things are currently in the worldπ
I knew of it when I lived in London, as there were huge celebrations in areas with a big Indian population. But I had forgotten about it until I saw the similar post on Kim’s blog.
Best wishes, Pete.
Happy deepawali (the actual name of this festival – means a string of lights). May our collective prayers and lights dispel the darkness.

I have often celebrated Diwali at school. Children enjoy making rangoli art.

It is very nice to see it in action, though I haven’t seen any evidence of it here since moving away from London.
Best wishes, Pete.

I watched some news footage of the celebration in Amritsar, home of the Golden Temple. Stunning.

Virtual religious service. Good idea to see a different tradition. I will have to do some of that.

Sound like a good time to decorate homes and workplaces with diyas and rangolis.
