Should she ring the ambulance?
She didn’t like to bother them.
After all, they were busy, and had better things to do.
But the pain in her chest wasn’t going away.
She took two paracetemol and went to bed with a cup of hot milk.
That should settle it.
They found her body two weeks later.
Tragically, all too frequent an occurrence, as “those who really need to ring 999 are those who are most reluctant to do so”

Thanks for bringing this up, Pete! I would have expected better advice from our governments, especially the one with privatized health system. Many people no longer go to the doctor, to avoid becoming infected.

The government here tells people to continue to ring for help in emergencies, but many old people consider they are just being a nuisance.
Best wishes, Pete.

I think a lot of husbands are alive because their wives insisted they go in despite their maintaining it was just a “little indigestion.”

Very true. However, many old people living alone still fail to summone help in time, unfortunately.

It is so common, Cheryl. So many old people who might well have been saved by new procedures and technology.

thinking back to the young mothers, would they notice if you were not walking the dog, but then, they would have no apparent way of telling anyone who you are if they did. Even in a small village. Warmest regards, Theo

That’s true, Theo. But Ollie is microchipped with our details, so if he was taken to a Vet, they would be able to work out who I was. (Or had been!)

My mother-in-law is not one to complain, and tends to take 2 paracetamol. However, in her case she needed 2 stents for blocked arteries and was on the verge of a massive heart attack, but seems okay now.

That could be. I think it’s also a generation thing. Have you watched any of the Ambulance programmes?

No, my wife watches all of them, but they make me angry. 🙂
It’s very much ‘coals to Newcastle’ for me to watch anything medical.
