Perhaps the most beautiful state in America is the Beehive State, aka Utah. I’ve visited Utah many times, but there are still plenty of places left for me to explore!
Utah is called the beehive state because the beehive is known as a symbol of hard work and industry. The beehive has been associated with Utah state symbolism for a long time. Beehives can be seen in Utah imagery as early as 1848 when early state leadership hoped to select a symbol that would bring out the best in their people and represent the values they wanted to foster in their community. I don’t listen to the radio, Ro. Was it about how much money they make? Considering what we have paid out on Ollie over the years, most Vets should be wealthy.
Basically the majority of UK vets are owned by about six huge companies and the fact that most pet owners feel that have to be insured means that vets can charge what they like as the insurers pay the bill. Subsequently insurance fees rise to the extent that some pet owners choose to put their animals down because they cannot afford either the insurance or the vet the fees.
Apparently in Europe insurance is used far less and vet costs are lower.
Very true. We used to use the only independent vet in a wide area, and that was 12 miles away. One company (The Grove Vets) owns all the others in a large radius, as well as many more in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire. I have a friend in Poland who has 2 dogs, and his vet fees are one tenth of what they cost here.
I also love the bees, but humblebees and all the other flying objects too. 🙂 xx Michael

That sums it up succinctly. Yes, thank you bees and not just for the honey, but all the pollination that keeps us in food. Warmest regards, Ed

Yes, we do what we can, but the real problem is the large commercial farms and industrial pollutants. Warmest regards, Ed
