I was offered a free photo face-swap app yesterday, so decided to try it. I chose a photo of me with Ollie, (the one on my About page) then a photo of Robert De Niro. My idea was to make it look as if the famous actor was taking Ollie for a walk. It was supposed to replace my face with that of De Niro, and showed examples of complete face-swaps.
Simple enough, just 3 steps. Choose original photo, then select a photo with the face you want to insert into the original. Click to swap the faces and wait a few minutes to download the result.
But it didn’t quite work out as I had hoped…
Here is the photo of De Niro I used.
After almost 5 minutes, this was the supposed ‘face-swap’ promised by A.I. It didn’t swap the faces at all, just merged them to create a creepy-looking stranger!
I don’t think I will bother with that again. It definitely ‘needs work’!
