Once again, the lovely Sally has been kind enough to feature one of my old posts in a guest spot. Some of you will have read it of course, but if you didn’t follow this blog before the end of 2014, you might not know it. If you would like to read it, and see more of Sally’s blog, please follow the link, and leave any comments over there.
Thanks in advance, Pete.
As I commented on Sally Cronin’s page, today’s snowflakes should read this. Very well written, Pete! As for me, I’ve always focused my thoughts on the future, and rarely think of the past. I figure my best days are yet to come!

Now that coal mining is being remembered nostalgically by the US President, I wish some actual, miner would be as truthful about the “good old days “ as you are here.

Thanks, Elizabeth. Mining is a good example of a ‘trade nostalgia’. I think they were just happy to have a job, and money in their pocket, but would have been much happier doing something less dangerous, arduous, and injurious to health.
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks, Pete. I seem to remember moments more than whole periods of time, but I always enjoyed school (although I was not that popular, and I was rather fat). My love affair with books is a long-standing one. Great post, Pete. And Sally always creates the best features.

Thanks, Olga. The next one from me on Sally’s blog is about my time at secondary school. That’s where I learned to love to write, and also began my own search for great literature.
Best wishes, Pete.
