A Useful Gift

(All photos can be greatly enlarged, by clicking on them twice)

When I wrote about the Christmas gifts I had received, I forgot about this one, as I was already using it in the bedroom.

Looks like a lump of shaped sponge, I know. That’s because it is. But if you use a Tablet or E-reader and get fed up having to hold it, as I do, this lump of sponge is worth its (exceptionally light) weight in gold.

The Pill-O-Pad is sold here by JML, and can be found on their website.

This simple gadget will securely hold your device, whether in landscape or portrait orientation. It will stay secure on almost any surface, including on my duvet, when I am reading in bed. Ideal to use in the kitchen too, when looking at recipes, or for watching something hands free, like a film, or You Tube.

Your device does not have to be removed from any protective case, and it will be held far more solidly than with the folding supports that are a feature of some cases, including mine. As you can see from the photos, it has a carrying handle on one side, and a net pouch on the other. I use that pouch to store a spare pair of reading glasses in.

The cover is easily removed for washing, as a zip is provided. This is as light as a feather, so completely portable, and it can be moved around easily even when the Tablet is on and working.

I am very impressed with this, and Julie is delighted that I use it all the time, and liked it so much.

Ollie was less impressed though. When he found out it was not a new soft toy for him to play with, he took his glove-puppet lion onto his mat and had a sulk.

  1. I’m so glad I found this! I’d searched Google for reviews as I was looking to get one for my mum for Christmas but I’ve seen worrying photos on Amazon of very wrinkly looking fabric, which is totally different to this tight-snug fit it suggests from the stock photos. Fab review! 🙂

  2. I just saw this advertised! Thank you for the personal endorsement, as TV ads often make products look like the best thing in the world. This appears to live up to its advertising. Love the photo of Ollie, even if he is sulking.

    1. I have said the same to everyone, Susanne. It really works, and is genuinely useful. You can also store a cellphone in the carrying handle, or use it to secure a drink. For the equivalent of $25, it is good value too.
      Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, honey. Ollie was sulky though! 🙂
That Pill-O-Pad is one of the most practical and useful gifts I have ever received. I use it every day, and store the Tablet on it when its not in use.
(You can keep a cellphone in the carrying handle too)
      Best wishes, Pete. xx

    1. Thanks, Kim. It has made a huge difference to my bedtime reading and Internet use.
Ollie’s fur has grown back, but all in different colours! He is booked in for a nice bath next week. 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Brilliant, Phil’s birthday is looming and now I have something to get for him! As well as the atlas thingy you had for Christmas, so you’ve done me 2 good turns with your Christmas presents! Also come on man, give us the next episode!!! Also Ollie looks so cute with his lion 😊!

    1. Sorry about the next episode. I had a major PC crash today, and it took over two hours to get it going again.
It will be out this afternoon. I tried to use the new laptop, but it was so slow on wi-fi I got annoyed with it and turned it off! I suspect a new PC is on the horizon…
      Best wishes, Pete.

        1. I know. Setting up the laptop this morning was such a pain. By the time I got to the end of ‘Registration’, it had me listed as living on Christmas Island, and I was unable to change it! It also used 30% of a full battery with all the faffing around! It’s a ‘GRRR!’ from me. 🙂

    1. It really works, Sarada. It is the best gadget I have had in years. 🙂
Not cheap, but should last for a VERY long time.
I might buy a ‘spare’ and store it. 🙂
      Best wishes, Pete.
