WordPress is still not sending me any email notifications of new followers to this blog.
They only appear in the sidebar now, and I may not always notice them, as I rarely use that.
So to everyone who has followed my blog in November, I send my thanks.
Your follows are greatly appreciated.

Do you want to get some of the notifications, WP is sending me, since some weeks? Before i got no single notification, but now nightover every morning i have around two hundred notifications in the mailbox. 😉 I think the WP systems are a little bit crazy, some times. Michael

My WP guy who helps blog setup got carried away given all the hacking attempts from Eastern Europe/Russia on my old blog and banned most of Europe in his zeal. I’ll try and fix.

Thanks for the link, Doug. Ollie already has his gifts, bought by my wife in September. He has a stuffed toy Christmas Turkey, and large stuffed Carrot toy. They are already wrapped! 🙂

I just played it on the PC while he was asleep on the floor next to my chair. He sat up immediately, and looked at the door. But after 30 seconds or so, he went back to sleep. 🙂 Obviously not easily impressed!

Are you sure the follow notification wasn’t turned off somehow? It’s in Profile, along with Account Settings, Security, Privacy, and other stuff. If you click on Notifications you see Notification Settings, where there’s a dropdown that shows check boxes for all the different kinds of notifications.

Thanks for the suggestion, Audrey. I checked, and all the boxes were ‘unticked’ where previously they had been ticked. That’s very strange, as I certainly had not been into the settings to do this. I suspect it was a case of WordPress ‘fiddling around backstage’. 🙂

WordPress keeps being weird at times doesn’t it? Strange that you aren’t getting notifications for new followers…I have to say I’m not getting those every time either, but I do use a the sidebar a lot (probably because my entire blog runs on an ipad😊)

I often forget about the sidebar, but sometimes check it to see repilies to comments on other blogs. That’s when I started to notice new followers that I was unaware of.

I used to get a “______is now following your blog” email every time. But they just stopped when the Block Editor stuff was going on. The now only show up in small print in the notifications bar.
