As I have mentioned, our holiday cabin is situated in the grounds of a hotel, and had a covered porch that I spent much of the time sitting on, with Ollie.
I took some photos of my daily view, one that changed constantly as guests and customers made use of the large beer-garden. These are the last of my holiday photos for this year.
(All of my own photos are full-frame, and can be clicked on to enlarge them.)
The view to the right. The white building is known as ‘The Cottage’, and we have stayed there twice previously. That was before the cabins were erected.
To the left is the non-smoking covered area, adjacent to the main road running through Sutton-on-Sea.
A closer view of the main hotel and the benches of the beer-garden.
This photo is not mine, it is from the website advertising the cabins. It shows all five cabins at the back of the hotel grounds. It can be enlarged too.
If anyone is interested in staying there, here is a link to the main website.

A very nice location. I only had to smile reading the name “Bacchus Hotel”. Lol xx Michael

Yes it is named for the god of wine, but they charge over £5 a glass, so I buy my wine in the supermarket nearby! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

This looks like a great place to visit, Pete. Thanks for sharing the details.

It is quite a fair price for what you get, and I think your boys might enjoy sleeping in the eaves by having to climb a ladder. 🙂

Thanks, Em. We really like it there, like using a time machine to get away from the modern world.

Lovely looking quiet spot Pete. I will have to try and go to that part of England on a future visit.

It is an area with not much going on, but ideal if you are looking for a ‘retro’ getaway, Chris.
Best wishes, Pete.

The beer garden looks like a picnic area here. If we called it a beer garden, none of the tables and benches would be empty. 🙂 Warmest regards, Theo

They were rarely empty, Theo. This was taken before 9am, too early for beer to be served in England. 🙂 Once the bar was open at 11 am, it soon filled up.
Best ishes, Pete.

Great for people watching and a quick pint Pete. Not sure I’d want them all watching me though😎 , pleased you all had a good break.

They look across at the cabins, but usually ‘enviously’. 🙂
Under the porch, we are not on show too much.
Cheers mate, Pete.

Thanks, John. It was very ‘old school England’, but it suited us. And Ollie too!

Not a soul at a picnic table. Social distancing? Time of day the photo was taken? Also, I don’t see any beer in the garden!

It was before 9 am, David. By lunchtime, almost every table was occupied. 🙂

You go to the same place every year Pete? The place must really be nice.

We have been there five times now, but not every year. We had a long break between visits at first. It is booked again for next year though, as it is ideal for Ollie.
Best wishes, Pete.

As the day wore on, many people would be coming and going from those benches until it got dark. But that just gave us something to look at, Beth. 🙂

Looks very nice, Pete. I’ve never been to Sutton-on-Sea, only the other Sutton near Croydon.

It’s a place that seems trapped in the past, Stevie. The main reason I like it so much. Almost no commercialisation, (save the Beach Bar) and magnificent unspoilt beaches that go for miles.
