  1. Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis are two sisters with a colorful history of pleasing photographers. They also share the same first name. And yet they have always kept their distance from each other. That’s because they consider themselves to be polar opposites.

  2. They are not branded as ‘Southern Lights’ down here but just ‘the Aurora’.
    They have seasonal flights on an Air NZ Dreamliner leaving Christchurch (where I live & where the USA Antarctic planes leave from) and it flies down south and passengers all take turns at the window seats. Guaranteed viewing.
    I have never seen the lights myself but they are visible most places down here. Even on summer nights you see that greeny sunset up to 11pm.

    1. They actually appear in some form 20 miles north of where I live. But I have yet to be up on the coast at the right time. Finland might be a better option.

  3. When running an ambo course in Franz Joseph (SI NZ) witnessed these although where I was didn’t look as spectacular but pretty amazing all the same.
