Post-it notes everywhere.
‘This is the tea’.
‘This is the light switch’.
‘Do not turn this off!’
‘Toilet rolls in here’.
Did she ever read them?
She looked nervous as we approached her chair.
“Good afternoon. Do I know you?”

That life could be whittled down to a few post it notes? So sad…C

I saw many examples of ovens left on, pots burnt out, fuse boxes turned off by mistake. Even some serious fires caused by electric heaters too close to bedding, and flooding due to bath taps being forgotten. Alzheimer’s can be dangerous when the person is still living ‘independently’.
Best wishes, Pete.

A disease that affects everyone who knows and loves the sufferer. I hope they find a cure one day.

She was still living in her own house, supported by a married daughter. It was sad to see a relatively young lady (74) in this condition, Robbie.
Best wishes, Pete.

Indeed, Pete! The worst part is thatthey are still researching the cause of dementia, but still don’t seem to have found anything.

Elderly lady opens the door: “Good afternoon. Do I know you?”
Man at the door, dressed in a yellow suit: “I’m the Post-it man. Remember what I told you last time? The Post-it man always rings twice.”

I remember seeing these notes when I worked in a residential home back in 1987.

Yes, that was about the time I saw these in the old lady’s house. But she still lived independently, and her daughter checked on her after work.
Best wishes, Pete.

I’m not sure they are trying too hard. Maybe they should put the vaccine team on it? They came up with something in less than a year.
Best wishes, Pete.

I worked in a nursing home when it was 19. Changed my life forever. I have sinced never understood why anyone would want to live to be 100.

I know exactly what you mean, Cindy. The lady referred to here was still living on her own, in a three-bedroom house. She was supported by her married daughter, who had to work during the day.
Best wishes, Pete.

I remember my nan offering me food that had rotted. I had to throw it away when she wasn’t looking.
So sad.
