The Wettest February

The official figures are in. On the TV News last night, it was announced that February 2024 was the wettest on record. (Since records began)

That will come as no surprise to most residents of Great Britain, I assure you.

And it feels like March has started out with the intention of claiming a similar record.

  1. And the drought here, Pete. And last year wasn’t good either, so… If only things would get spread around a bit more… We’d trade a bit of sun for some more water regularly.

  2. We have the warmest winter on record in most of the US, with snowfall down by more than 60% win Buffalo…and when Buffalo doesn’t get snow you KNOW something is wrong! Find a way to save that “liquid gold” because most of the world needs it desperately!

    1. As usual, there seems to be no real effort to store the rainwater, John. It is running off the fields onto the roads, then down into drains. If we have a hot summer, they will no doubt be predicting water shortages by July.
      Best wishes, Pete.

      1. Pete, we have the same issue in LA…however, when it snows in the mountains in California, they do have a series of dams and reservoirs that actually take the water as it melts…that is our drinking water and farm water for the summer and fall!
